JR is a French graffiti and street artist from who won the TED Prize 2011 for his innovative public art works that change lives and communities.  The newspaper le Monde has described his work as “revealing humanity.” [more...]

In his TED talk in March 2011 JR talks about projects in which he photographs people in impoverished and war-torn neighborhoods, enlarges the portraits to enormous proportions and then wheat-pastes them onto buildings, bridges, trains and rooftops.

His current project, Women Are Heroes, depicts women who are dealing with poverty, war, sexual violence and oppression.  His work offers people who are less visible an opportunity to be seen, to share their stories, raise awareness in their communities and beyond and to help change the world by increasing our collective understanding of human nature through his art.

Poco Dolce Chocolate is the official chocolate of Umanity.  This artisan product is local to us in the Bay Area and embodies innovative flavors, the perfect size and just the right amount of sweetness – quite a trifecta.  Erin and Ulrich indulge in a piece nearly every day they are in the office as it is a critical component of our workflow.  Next we will review the official gym of Umanity…coming soon.
